Fraudulent Telephone Calls Reported/Phishing Scam

We’ve been made aware that some members have received a call that displayed our 1-800-225-1859 toll-free number and were told that a device was found on an ATM machine and that their debit card was compromised. The person calling claimed they were from ABCO and asked for the last four digits of their card number and the PIN number. If you receive a call of this nature, please hang up. Do not provide any information. If you have already provided information, please contact us immediately.

Fraudsters have the ability to make any phone number show up on the caller ID so that it appears to be coming from a company or individual even when it may not be. This attempt to obtain sensitive information by disguising as a trusted entity is known as a phishing scam. It is common in the financial industry and affects credit unions and banks of all sizes.

Please be aware that calls from ABCO do not display our 800 number. In addition, ABCO will never contact you and ask for a PIN, SSN, or card number.

If you have any questions, please contact Member Care at 1-800-225-1859. If you believe you have been a victim of fraud, please contact Card Services at 1-800-225-1859 ext. 7602 to report the incident immediately.
