Any high school senior who is a member of ABCO Federal Credit Union (or joins when submitting the application) is eligible to apply for a $500 credit union college scholarship.

There are two ways a student member of ABCO Federal Credit Union can win a scholarship:

1. From the NJ State Association of Credit Unions (NJCUL)
2. From additional scholarships funded by ABCO Federal Credit Union.

Students will be competing for the statewide scholarships against other student members from participating credit unions across New Jersey. To ensure fair and impartial judging, student applications are submitted to a statewide panel appointed by the NJCUL. This panel ranks all applicants on academic performance, extracurricular and community activities, references and personal goals.

NJ State Scholarships are awarded. From the state rankings, ABCO awards additional scholarships.

Funding

The number of ABCO scholarships awarded each year is based on the amount of money raised through donations to our Scholarship Fund and an annual stipend from the Board of Directors. The more money that is donated, the more scholarships are awarded.

Donations can be as little as $1 or as much as you wish. They can be at one time or yearly. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
