Credit unions are member-owned, cooperative financial institutions. When you are a member, you are part owner of the credit union! The Share Savings Account is required of all members. Membership is based on a person maintaining the basic minimum deposit (one "share") of the credit union - a $10 deposit to a Share Savings Account. As long as you maintain $10 in a Share Savings Account, you remain a member of the credit union and eligible to take advantage of all of the products and services the credit union offers. There are three tiers:
